Chapter 17 - Hubby Back

A hangover tormented me the next day and I didn't properly prepare for Vi. I wasn't quite sure what time he would get back from the camping trip.

Without warning I heard his key in the door and then he entered. It was nice to have him back; the kids went wild trying to explain about the dog. They hadn't mentioned the fire. So funny they had selective memory. In between their baby talk I interrupted and explained about our shocking experience.

He also explained about a fishhook getting into one of his workmates foot! Ouch!

He noticed my exhausted demeanor and suggested that we all go out for dinner to a restaurant. No problem!

We were thrilled to go with him to continue catching up on each other's lives.

Later that evening he confessed to messing around with Jen. A single girl he worked with. I was positively shocked yet didn't freak out because I was equally guilty! I also spilled the beans on everything which happened between Drake and myself. It was strange because what could we say. Simultaneous infidelity.

Without any hard feelings we apologized to each other and accepted the reality of relationships in the new generation. Perhaps the oddest thing was that Vi would allow me to see Drake occasionally if he could see Jen. Fair is fair and we figured it might spice up our love life.

The possibility of a pregnancy also came up and we decided to cross that bridge if we got there and not to stress about it.

Our sex life improved after that day. Even the finances got better because Vi got promoted shortly after the camping trip as his boss Ben had noticed his renewed work ethic.

Drake went away for his long business trip and I hadn't heard from him since the incredible party night, yet my daydreams still held a special spot reserved for fantasies involving him!
